The Stag is perhaps Scotland’s most iconic animal. It has inspired art, poetry, song and folklore for hundreds if not thousands of years. It’s wild, beautiful nature not only reflects that of the Scottish landscape, but it has long been associated with power, strength and agility. The stag nowadays has been used in tacky ‘shortbread and tartan’ imagery. This Stag however represents the majestic faerie cattle in our traditional folklore.
