About Us
Genuine Quirk began in late 2021 by two friends with a drive and a passion to create unique handmade ceramics that would be made and packaged with plastic free, vegan and sustainable materials. Our ceramics are inspired by Scottish folklore and its beautiful landscape.
We have expanded to running a open access studio for 9 potters at the beginning of their pottery journey. Our goal was to create a safe and inclusive studio that makes pottery as accessible as possible.

Niamh MacKaveney
Niamh runs the creative side of the business, designing and making all our ceramics. As is the unwritten code, it has to be mentioned that Niamh is vegan and passionate about all things arts and crafts, witchy and dog related. When she is not working at ‘Genuine Quirk’ she is a folk musician performing primarily with trio ‘ELÍR’. Give her a follow on instagram @niamhmackaveney!
Jamie Stewart
Jamie runs the business side of things, when he’s not creating a positive customer service experience or researching the most eco friendly way to create and ship our products - he works as a commercial bathroom designer and audio / video engineer. In his free time he enjoys bagging Munros, snowboarding and seeing friends. Jamie is an absolute force of positivity and enthusiasm.
Sustainability
At Genuine Quirk we care about our planet and animals, thats why all of our products are cruelty free and made using recycled, reused, biodegradable materials. We take great care and pride in the suppliers we use to ensure the products we are making are kind to our planet but also made to last.
